This book published by the support of IUESA and Research Center of Road, Housing and Urbanization in 2015.

It has approved by Dr. Hassan Maleki, Dr. Davoud Danesh Jafari, Dr. Kourosh Fathi Vajargah and Dr. Ali Shamaei and it has received a letter of recommendation. It is one of the few works that it has established a precise link among organizational training, management and city coherently and it seems that it would be pioneer of several works.

At the beginning of this book, the authors express that in this work it has been tried to consider the role of human capital achieving urban capital development, since today community members have a main role in sustainable development as human and social capital, and human capital of servicing organizations such as municipalities and banks play an important role in urban sustainable development among all of them. According to the studies and proposed researches in this field, it should be noted that the most important human capital development indicator, and accordingly urban capital development, is organizational training subject.

The authors concluded that in development process, components of a system in accordance with basic needs and individuals and social groups’ demands in the system, leave undesirable past life and move toward a situation which it is better in terms of material and spiritual. Beyond the concept of development is sustainable development which it introduced intergenerational equity and environmental protection terms to the development literature and it was raised in different sectors. One of the important necessities of urban sustainable development is urban capital development. To develop urban capital, human resources experts and organizational and urban managers recommend using important and efficient training instruments which they can provide grounds of urban capital development and consequently urban sustainable development via urban services management institutions such as Municipality and Bank Shahr.

The book has seven chapters:

Chapter 1: Definitions of training and rehabilitation of human resources, background, necessity, goals, organizational training principles and practical models of organizational training

Chapter 2: Definition of need and need assessment, necessity of need assessment in organizations, general steps in the process of need assessment, principles of determining training needs, training need assessment patterns, techniques of operational need assessment in municipality, practical sample of training need assessment with sub-sectors and details

Chapter 2: Educational programming

Chapter 4: The subject of training courses implementation with practical sample; the output of researches and field studies of the authors accomplished before

Chapter 5: Important subject of training courses evaluation

Chapter 6: The concept of quality in training, standardization of quality and types of standards, model and practical sample of assessing organizational excellence in Tehran Municipality (EFQM)

Chapter 7: The role of training in urban capital development (the most important chapter with innovative aspect, linking training and management concepts to urban issues).
