Unveiling “Social banking emphasizing urban economics and human resources training” book
IUESA: The book of “Social banking emphasizing urban economics and human resources training” was unveiled.
Dr. Rahmattollah Hafezi, the member of Tehran city council, Ayatollah Seyyed Mohammad Baqer Kharrazi, Hezbollah Secretary General of Iran, Dr. Mohammad Taqi Taqavifard, assistant professor of Allameh Tabatabaei University, Dr. Sadeqi Shahedani, the chancellor of Economics and Islamic thoughts Imam Sadiq University, Seyyed Mohsen Tabatabaei Mozdabadi, the secretary of IUESA and some other researchers and the media were in this ceremony.
Emphasizing that this book is one of the few books in Iran which addresses the issue of social responsibilities in banking system, Tabatabaei said: It has been tried to consider the duties of banking system for removing social problems regarding rapid growth of urbanization.
He defined social banking as a specific type of justice-based banking that both concerns about poverty and considers development. Not only it emphasizes financial public benefit, it focuses on public participation and protects the environment and vulnerable elements of the nature.
Considering bank investment in urban management which has a public benefit and social participation, respects environmental justice and natural ecosystems, and it is a joint issue of social banking and urban management, he added: this approach is a way to urban sustainable development. It needs human force training in order to theorize the concept of sustainable city.
Referring that this book has urban economy and human resources approach and it is a scientific and practical work in academic and administrative arena, Mohammad Taqi Taqavifard, faculty member of Allameh Tabatabaei University added, regarding rich content of this book, it can be used as a valuable academic resource in education system.
It should be noted that this book is written by Dr. Hossein Mohammadpour Zarandi and Seyyed Mohsen Tabatabaei Mozdabadi under the supervision of IUESA. “The scientific-research Quarterly Journal of Economics and Urban Management” was selected in two indices in the 21st Press Exhibition.
