Iran economy in
post-sanction needs a new strategy
IUESA: Jafar Qaderi, Member of
Parliament, referred to the post-sanction condition and asked the question,
whether the government in economy sector needs new planning and policy-making
or not. He said: definitely, the government needs a new planning and
policy-making definitely in this condition and if currency and financial
openings in the international arena is created and money transfer is
facilitated, technology besides access to global markets should be brought into
the country, and authorities should have new policies in accordance with these
needs. Member of planning and budget commission of the parliament emphasized
that the government should utilize all attempts and facilities to take
advantage of the current condition, removing some restrictions and bottlenecks
are due to sanction and it is necessary to develop a new strategy in this
field. It is true that opening is created in some fields, but implementing
resistive economy policies and supporting domestic production do not apply only
in terms of the sanctions and they should be on the basis of resistive policies
after removing sanctions in order not to create the past conditions again by
foreign pressure, he said.
Is the process of implementing the
resistive policies acceptable or does it have weaknesses during two years after
they have announced? He replied, during this time, authorities did not consider
seriously as it should have implemented completely and some authorities do not
accept these policies and they follow other methods in their minds. When some
others offer these policies, it has more slogan aspect and it has not seen an
important measure actually. According to this economist, ordinary and current
measures of some agencies and organizations are offered, laced with resistive
economy policies, but definitely these policies have unique and endogenous
features and functions and it is better authorities take advantage of
capacities of other organizations in order to optimal use of these policies.
What sectors should be considered
for economy boom in the current condition? He said: the loops that result in
added value should be completed in different arenas like oil and petrochemical
and also this policy can be created in others sectors such as industry and
mining and it should be avoided selling and exporting raw material which they
are counted as the country’s capital. One of the necessities of today’s economy
of Iran is transport development and consequently serious consideration to
transport infrastructures to provide relations with other countries and as a
result product cost would decrease, he added. In
the case of foreign investment and the government priorities in this field to
transfer technology and full use of this capacity, foreign investment should
devote to the areas that having a lot of problems and are effective in economy
and pioneer of growth motion. Yet, incentives should be prepared and compiled
in order that required sectors would become the investment priority. |
