Iran’s urbanization near 75 percent

IUESA: Resistance economy is a strategy that will help Iran’s economy in short-term and it can prepare ground for economic development and progress in future in order to change into an economic power in the region and Islamic world with 1404 Perspective Document goals, Dr. Hossein Mohammadpour Zarandi, the president of IUESA said.

Resistance economy is not an idea or slogan; rather it is a perfect plan. This targeted policy enjoys theoretical principles with reasonable strategies that can be applied to achieve to its goals, he further said.

Referring to urbanization in Iran, he said according to the published reports, the world urban population has reached from 0.7 billion people in 1950 to 3.9 billion people in 2014 and as it has been estimated it will be reached 6.3 billion ones by 2050. Iran, like other developing countries, has experienced uncontrolled urbanization. According to the statistics, it will reach to 75 percent in 2016 census results.

Touching upon resistance economy duties, he added developing social justice in cities is one of the influential measures of urban management since increasing social participation in economic affairs and encouraging public activities have been emphasized in the first article of general policies of resistance economy; hence, public participation in urban economy should be put on urban managers’ agenda.
